About Us

The Western Area School Health Benefit Plan was established on September 1, 1984. This plan was designed to be a long-term provider of quality benefits with competitive rates. All Schools within the plan have identical coverage (except for Life Insurance or dental coverage) and identical premiums. All schools share in the economy of scale and the advantage of joining a large pool of employees to stabilize claims and ultimately the premiums.

This program has been a good solution for a number of schools. By joining forces with other districts they have collectively managed their own health insurance program. The plan has been able to maintain quality benefits and provide stable premiums.
